Hershey Woman Struck Near Home On Halloween Dies, Pennsylvania State Police Say

A 61-year-old woman has died after being struck by a car, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Friday, Nov. 3.

Christine Stewart of Hershey suffered head trauma, lost consciousness, and later died at Hershey Medical Center on Oct. 31, state police detailed.

She had been walking on the edge of the road near her home on Dogwood Drive with she was struck by an 85-year-old woman's blue 2012 Subaru Impreza, according to the release. 

Troopers responded to the reported crash around 2:43 p.m.

The driver is also from Hershey and her name has not been released. No charges have been filed as of Friday, but the deadly incident is under investigation.

Christine was a mom and grandma, according to her social media. 

She was a class of 1980 graduate of Indiana Area High School, a class of 1984 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's degree in  Accounting/Management Information Systems, Accounting/Management Information Systems, and a class of 1990 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with an MBA, according to her LinkedIn. 

She worked as a part-time associate at the management company Shermer & Associates since 2018. 

Funeral and memorial service details have yet to be released.
